A Romantic Date with a Perfect Gentlemen

I gotta admit that am not that type of a guy who usually pens what I experience on that particular day. I wasn't even sure I could do this now. After a glass of wine and some pills, I guess I am cool with starting a blog.

First I would like to share with my blog readers that I am gay- and proud. I guess I made my peace with that aspect of mine. I am also Muslim. I also made peace with those seemingly contradicting halves of myself.

Thanks to the internet I could share with anonymous readers my deepest darkest secrets that I couldn't share with my loved ones for fear of rejection. The internet to me is the great equalizer; breaking boundaries, social and physical.

For those who say been gay is a choice, I want to tell you that I have always been attracted to boys. I remember one day when my parents took us to a wedding I shouted loudly to my mum that I would marry a man. Talk about coming out when you are a toddler.

Well the topic at hand was a fabulous date I had today with a handsome yet charming guy.

Well for privacy's sake lets call him Prince Charming.

We actually met in one of this gay singles site. And we chatted for a whole day.

Prince charming called me up on Saturday and said he'd pass by around 8pm. True to his word he was there pronto and I was kinda thrilled by his punctuality. I immediately rushed to the venue and Lo and Behold he was sitted  comfortably in his chair.

I entered the room trying to make a first impression and hoping for that romantic first dates I always see in Rom-Com.

This date however was better than that Rom-Com.

The date started with a perfect tenor where we introduced one another. I immediately liked him, Prince Charming was calm and composed. We got to talking and soon we were even discussing our past relationships. I have always thought speaking of your ex was a bad sign. Trust me with Prince Charming it was like a breeze. I somehow couldn't even recall my ex's name.

Two hours and a dinner later, we were discussing our taste in Pop culture. Frankly I don't believe we could be any different. We both liked Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings and we both hated twilight with a passion.

Our Musical taste was uncannily same, top marks went to the divas Beyonce and Whitney Houston. Honorable mentions for Fun, Gotye, Oliver Tank, Jay-Z. Bottom marks for Justin Bieber and Nikki Minaj. Is there anyone who doesn't hate Bieber?

We both discovered we were bookworms and  high fived one another.

Unfortunately Prince Charming had to go to his friend's place. I kind of felt sad and wished he stayed the whole night. But everything has to end at some point.

The good thing though is that Prince Charming asked me out for a 2nd date next weekend. That somehow added cream to the lovely date I had today.

Looking forward to next week and hoping for a more perfect date.

For me that is the cream. At last hope has been born for the guy who had his fair share of bad dates and horrible one night stands. Looking forward to next week with passion.

Yasser.

Ps Before I sign out I would love to share this beautiful article I found on Daily Mail. It made me happy and I almost cried.
